Crime Victims Advocate Committee
CVAC was formed at a Buccaneer Homeowners meeting to assist residents who are not at Buccaneer Estates when they become the victim of a crime. CVAC is available to assist the Sheriff’s Officers when they need someone to meet with them at the home and sign the crime report to prosecute if and when the offender is arrested. This will only be done if the homeowner contacts one of the CVAC members and gives them permission to act on their behalf in their absence. We will assist full time residents also, if they request our assistance.
We encourage all residents to attend the Security Committee meetings every month to become involved in ways we can improve the security and safety of our homes and community. Vacation home check forms are available at the Sheriff’s Office at Pondella Road for monthly walk around of your home while you are away. We recommend all residents complete this form so we can have a high visibility of the Sheriff’s Office within our park. With many residents away for the summer, if you see something that looks out of place or suspicious call the Sheriffs office and report it.
The Buccaneer Crime Victims Advocate Committee (CVAC) will meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Hospitality House and will be in conjunction with the Buccaneer Security Committee and the Buccaneer Safety Patrol. These committees believe that the three groups have a lot in common and working together can result in shared ideas and projects.
The Buccaneer CVAC will not meet during the summer months of May, June, July, and August. Please contact one of the full time resident members if you need assistance during these months.
